This week, we're sitting down with the brilliant Kate! A key part of our leadership team, Kate's journey at Answer has been one of rapid progression, moving from Senior Consultant to Principal and then becoming Head of Delivery.

She's led major projects for some of our biggest clients in finance and government, and even dived into the national pandemic response. We chatted with her about leading through change, continental cheese, and singing to an audience of 60 million people.

If you had to describe your job in three words, what would they be?

Rewarding, Varied, Enjoyable.

You’ve had a fantastic journey here. Can you give us a summary?

I joined as a senior consultant, was promoted after a year to Principal, and then became Head of Delivery when we set up the Capabilities. I've worked mainly with clients on the non-health side - RPMI, Bank North, Bravura, and the Home Office. Like most of us, I also worked on health during Covid as a BA on the Track and Trace Team!

What’s one career milestone you’re most proud of?

Being appointed as Head of Ops. It didn't last long as we had a change of strategy soon after, but that just demonstrated how we respond to change when needed and never standstill!

What’s the best thing about working with your team?

I just love the diversity of characters in my capability - and they are all so bright and clever. It's really stimulating to be with them and work alongside them.

Now for a fun fact that always surprises people!

I've sung the national anthems before kick-off at a Rugby World Cup match for a TV audience of 60+ million (not solo I hasten to add) for Canada v Italy. The Canadian one was easiest!

How do you spend your spare time when you're not leading major projects or singing in one of your two choirs?

I love most things musical - live bands (Brudenell is a fave venue), musical theatre, and singing... and most importantly, watching the Mighty Whites at Elland Road.

What’s the most unusual job you’ve ever had?

Working in a shop specialising in 250 continental cheeses. What I don't know about fromage... and you really don’t notice the smell after a bit 🙂.

What's your biggest goal for the rest of 2025?

Seeing as I’m currently remodelling my garden... to reach 2026 unscathed and solvent!
