As a vital member of our Development Engineering team, Lillie has taken on exciting, complex challenges and built a reputation for bringing curiosity, energy, and a passion for growth to every project. Let’s get to know her a little better…

Lillie’s role in three words

When asked to describe her work, Lillie chose:

– three words that perfectly sum up her journey into tech consultancy, embracing change, learning, and innovation at every step.

Lillie’s journey at Answer

Lillie’s Answer story kicked off with a memorable first impression, being invited to a quarterly meet-up before even officially starting! That warm welcome set the tone for a career that’s been full of challenges and new adventures.

From building an AI Workflow Engine from (almost) scratch, to working on a US sexual health project, and now navigating NHS GP software integration, Lillie’s experience spans everything from AI to cloud systems—with no two days the same!

A career milestone to be proud of

One standout achievement for Lillie was developing a radiology imaging AI Workflow Engine—a challenging project involving generics, concurrency, and recursion.
Seeing it successfully power AI workflows gave her an incredible “I built that!” moment!

The best thing about the team

Even when faced with seriously old legacy code, Lillie says her team’s mindset is unbeatable: everyone dives in headfirst, figures it out together, and keeps the momentum going. A proper team effort.

An unexpected past role

Before her tech career, Lillie worked in IT support at a car manufacturer—including rescuing a flooded mini-data center (yes, with a hairdryer) and debugging Wi-Fi issues... only to discover her own scripts were to blame!

Favourite travel memory

Cruising down Route 1 on the California coast remains Lillie’s favourite travel memory. The stunning Pacific Ocean views and the charm of the small coastal towns made it unforgettable—although a do-over with more time to explore is definitely on the list!

A fun fact about Lillie

Thanks to her partner’s work in the convention world, Lillie once shared a lift with Mandip Gill (Yaz from Doctor Who). It took a moment to click—but it turns out they’re both from Leeds! Small world.

Spare time adventures

When she’s not coding, Lillie loves:
🌍 Following travel YouTubers (and plotting future trips to South America)
🥾 Getting back into hiking
☕ Dreaming of new adventures over coffee

Her bucket list includes a parachute jump—so Operation Get Fit is well underway!

A dream job for a day

While not a traditional job swap, Lillie would love a glimpse into the world of UN humanitarian work, inspired by the powerful stories she’s been reading about deradicalisation efforts around the world.

Biggest goal for 2025

For the rest of 2025, Lillie’s focus is on fitness, adventure, and saving for her dream South America trip—all while embracing every opportunity to grow personally and professionally.

From AI breakthroughs to California road trips and future parachute jumps, Lillie brings energy, resilience, and a love of learning to everything she does.
