This month marks an incredible milestone for one of our longest-standing team members—Jake celebrates 11 years at Answer Digital!

From Junior Software Engineer to Principal Software Engineer and Joint Head of Engineering, Jake’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring. His story is one of curiosity, growth and genuine impact—not only across the projects he’s delivered, but also through the team he’s helped shape.

A journey of innovation and mentorship

Jake’s time at Answer has been defined by a deep passion for solving real-world problems and a love of learning. One of his proudest career moments was leading the MFT development team and playing a pivotal role in the creation of the Chameleon EPR.

It wasn’t just about the technical delivery—it was about mentoring others, creating a space where collaboration could thrive, and seeing the results of that work positively impact clinical staff. That’s the kind of work that sticks with you.

Building better together

When asked about his favourite part of working at Answer, Jake doesn’t hesitate: it’s the people. For him, being surrounded by a diverse and talented group who support and challenge one another is what makes the work truly special. Complex problems become exciting opportunities when you’ve got the right team by your side.

From call centres to coding—and a few ski slopes in between

Before Answer, Jake worked as a customer service advisor at a large telecommunications company—a role that taught him the value of clear communication and staying calm under pressure. Outside of work, he’s a passionate skier (Sauze d'Oulx in Italy is a firm favourite), an avid movie and video game fan, and proud dad of two daughters. He also claims an “unhealthy passion” for his lawn—though we think he’s earned it.

And, for the record, there was once a time when people said he looked like Leonardo DiCaprio…

Looking ahead

As he sets his sights on the future, Jake is focused on continuing to grow our engineering capability and helping his team reach new heights. On a personal note, his goal for 2025 is simple: to spend quality time with his family and make lasting memories.
