What we do
We’re a Leeds-based digital consultancy with a 120 strong team, deep rooted in healthcare, financial services and other regulated sectors. Over the last 25 years, we’ve helped some of the UK’s most complex organisations modernise their systems, unlock the power of their data, and deliver better outcomes for the people who rely on them.
We do this by putting people first — always. That means listening carefully, challenging with care, and co-creating solutions that are made to last.

Independently driven and employee owned
As an employee-owned business, we have a stake in everything we do. That means every project, every decision, and every outcome matters to us, because we don’t answer to external shareholders, we answer to our clients and our team.
This independence keeps us free from rigid regulations and external constraints, allowing us to work to your requirements, not someone else’s agenda. It also means we invest in our people, because when they thrive, so do our clients.

We don’t do big reveals, flashy decks or vague roadmaps. We do honest collaboration, clear direction, and work that holds up in the real world.
We’re proudly independent and employee-owned, which means our priorities are set by the people doing the work — not external investors. That gives us the freedom to focus on what matters: doing the right thing, not just the easy thing.

Our history

1999
In 1999, when the internet was still in its infancy, Gary and Kate Parlett saw more than uncertainty, they saw opportunity. While many tech firms operated in silos, they built Answer Digital on the power of collaboration, embedding expertise into businesses to help them grow alongside the digital revolution. This is an ethos that we still live by today.

2001
The dotcom crash in 2001 put the entire tech industry under pressure, and the financial crisis a few years later only compounded the difficulties. Yet, through every challenge, we adapted, learning, growing, and strengthening the foundations of what we are today.

2011
In 2011 the company went on a journey of discovery and a rebrand to the Answer which is known today.

2014
In 2014, the entire Answer team travelled to Malta for a company-wide retreat. This trip wasn’t just a celebration—it was a turning point. It marked the beginning of a journey toward defining our values, the principles that have guided us ever since.

2020
In 2020, we took our biggest step yet, becoming an employee-owned business, reinforcing our commitment to independence, agility, and people-first innovation.

2024
While celebrating our 25th anniversary, we also had a significant turning point in our management, with the appointment of our new CEO; Rich Pugmire.
